INSTALLATION ALERT: STS Decomission

Effective: March 1, 2019

Description:
Effective March 1, 2019, Infor plans to stop providing discrepancy corrections and updates for the Lawson Security as Security Token Service (LS as STS) authentication mechanism for providing single sign-on (SSO) services to the Infor Lawson version 10 solution.

At this point in time, Infor strongly recommends that Infor Lawson 10 customers using the LS as STS authentication mechanism switch to Microsoft® Active Directory® Federation Services (AD FS) for providing single sign-on services to the Infor Lawson 10 solution. Microsoft AD FS is currently Infor’s corporate standard single sign-on solution across applicable Infor applications including Infor Lawson 10 and applicable Infor CloudSuite solutions. Switching to Microsoft AD FS can help prepare Infor Lawson 10 customers for upgrading to the Infor CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management (aka version 11) application and applicable Infor CloudSuites based on it.

Furthermore, the planned Infor Lawson System Foundation 10.0.10.0 cyclical service pack release will not support the LS as STS authentication mechanism and is currently expected to support only Microsoft AD FS for providing single sign-on services to the Infor Lawson 10 solution.

Customers already using Microsoft AD FS for providing single sign-on services to the Infor Lawson 10 solution, and customers using any applicable Infor CloudSuite application should not be affected and no action is required.

After March 1, 2019, Infor Lawson 10 customers running the LS as STS authentication mechanism run the risk of encountering issues in their

environments that will require switching to Microsoft AD FS. For example, there are some session timeout and session logout scenarios that can only be resolved by Microsoft AD FS.

To help mitigate that risk, Infor strongly recommends that Infor Lawson 10 customers update their Infor Lawson systems to Microsoft AD FS single sign on authentication prior to March 1, 2019.
